zulumack, go to search at top of page and enter glowplugs, or glow plugs relay, you'll get all the imfo you need. steve

Also you need to tell us what MB you have and a signature would be nice ;) Like Steve said start trouble shooting with a search, glow plugs are a hot topic especially this time of year.

Zulumack,

Are you sure its only the GP dash light turning off early? The GP relay should keep the GP energized about 40 seconds no matter how long the GP dash light stays on.

Try waiting about 30 seconds and see how the engine starts.

thank,s I,ll try that- but from a morning start the car runs rough then smooth,s out all day after the first start.

Zulu,

"Engine runs smooth after first start": That's because the engine retains some heat after it runs for a while and Diesels run better when warm.
