engine heater plug location ??

-- i have an '83 TDT euro/gray market wagon and cannot seem 2 locate the plug 4 the engine warmer - i am in colorado at the moment and it is very difficult 2 crank --- any suggestions ?

Well on all of the W123s I seen it was tied to the metal coolant line below the air cleaner, then came forward a bit further and exited around the bumper. Start back a little ways, it is the only triple wire (gray) in there that I know of. To stop any further problems it would be a good idea to do what a previous owner of my 83 did, tie the cord to one of the supports in front. Whenever I need it I can pull on the cord and the plug will pop up.
