where can I find cheap diesel purge?
Where can I buy this stuff. One place wanted like $7.00 for one can before shipping! I thought that sounded expensive. When doing diesel purge does the banjo fitting have to be loosened to get the car running again? I mean after the DP and all, and pumping it. So does the fitting have to be loosened to prime it correctly or can't you just pump?
Thanks David

You have to shop around for this stuff. My local Mercedes-Benz dealer actually carries it, and at a better price than mail order.
You shouldn't be messing with the banjo bolt when purging. It has nothing to do with that. Diesel purge only involves the two fuel lines.

I mean after the diesel purge is gone. After the hoses are re-attached, do I just pump it till it is hard? That is what I did when I ran out of gas. (reserve light didn't work, didn't know that at the time).
Thanks David

Just pump it until you don't see any air bubbles in your fuel filter. As many times I've done it, the pump has never been hard.

Hi WANT '71 280SEL.
When running diesel purge don't let all of it run through the engine. When you see that it is almost gone stop the engine and reconnect the hoses. If it doesn't suck air you shouldn't have to prime it alot. www.**************.com sells 2 cans, instructions and a lenght of hose for $20+$8.50 shipping. Yes it is not cheap, but the it might save you a trip to a mechanic. Louis. |

Yeah, that does sound expensive. I found it locally at a import parts supply for $6.00 a can and I bought enough hose for another $2.00.
Can't beat that!
