Loose Seat Back

The car is a 124 Body with electric seats. The back of the driver side seat has quite a bit of play in it. The back moves back and forth about 1/2" each way. Its quite annoying, especially when making stops or accelerating. The seat itself does not move in its track.

I looked for means of tightening the back of the seat but can not locate the right bolts to tighten. Any idea where to look?

Thanks

Phil

I'm not sure how the W124 seats are setup but here is a picture from the seats on my W123. If these two side bolts are loose it'd cause that play. They are 13mm, behind a plastic panel which can be carefully removed with a large screwdriver where the section meets the steel frame.

Hi Jeff,

My car is a 124 body, and has electric seats, so unfortunately it does not have the same set-up that you show in the picture.

Thanks anyway

Phil
