Attaching map lights to ceiling

Sorry if this isn't really the right area of the forum to ask this question in, but none of the others seemed partiularly appropriate either and hey - it's going into a diesel wagon ;-).

I bought some airplane-style interior lights from JC Whitney to install in my wagon (intended for RVs so they seem a little bulky, but I've determined they'll fit fine where I want them). The 2nd-row seats are entirely without light and it has always bugged me (there's a dome light in front and in back in the cargo area, but neither helps much!).

The problem now is how do I attach them to the ceiling?! Their bulk requires a surface-mount adapter that should fit fine underneath the headliner (there seems to be a lot of empty space between headliner and the metal of the roof in the corners). My problem is in somehow affixing this light mount (vinyl I think) to the metal ceiling (metal)... I don't want to drill holes through the roof!

They need to be affixed very firmly so they can't be pulled off while adjusting the aiming of the light or being bumped by flailing limbs or stuff being packed into the cargo area. I'm guessing I'll have to use some kind of very strong adhesive. Does anyone here have any good suggestions or tips?

Thanks! :-)

If you have some reasonably flat, large surface on the back of those lights than Velcro might work.

That's a great idea... certainly it would make them easy to reattach if they came off!

I'd still prefer a more firm and solid attachment though; if nobody suggests anything else here I'll just go down to Autozone and grab whatever glue looks strongest and give it a shot with one of them. If it doesn't hold well enough to make me happy I'll go with the velcro :-).

Thanks!
