So, I'm browsing Ebay to look at cars and I come across what appears to be a really clean 300D. But the description specs a $500 AMG chip upgrade! Can you believe the blastfamy? As there is a piece of silicone on the entire car, let alone an AMG chip... Too funny...

Silicone has been used in waxes for a long time... so if you chip the paint you would have some...
but I don't think Silicon is in your 300...

Silicone = soft and squeezable
Silicon = hard and progammable

I used the smaller plastic cap from a can of silicone spray to cover up the ALDA after I backed it out a 1/2 turn or so. So I actually do have a performance chip, I mean cap.........
