clock repair question
My clock in my 85 300sd would run only when warm. I did a search and found info on replacing the capacitors, which I did. Now the clock wont work. I looked at the motor in it while it had power, and the only thing it does is act like it wants to turn, but doesn't quite go all the way. It moves just a little bit, but then back the other way. I let it sit for ten minutes, and the needle never moved forward.
Any ideas? I checked all the connections on the back. Anyone have one they want to sell? |

Install a quartz clock with remote battery holder in a nice spot you can reach easily under the dash...
That way even when the car battery is out you keep the correct time... and are not messing with a 18 year old clock.... Or get one off Ebay or something that works.... or send it to someone that knows how to fix them.... |

Finding a used one from a scrapyard would be your best option. You can always remove the hands and get an external clock and "glue" it where the stock clock was.
