help! wiper arm removal 240D 115 '76
Hello,
After I luckily turned on the wipers which were freezed to the windshield, one of them got loose and stopped working. I am struggling to remove the wiper arm. Should I take off the spring for this or is there another way ? From manual for 123 models it seems that it is different on 115... Thanks ! Sergey 240D '76 |

Position arm correctly, flip back the cover at the base, and tighten the 13mm screw.
Break the wipers free from the windshield on these older cars before operating them -- the casting at the base of the arm is fairly soft, and evenutally it will wear enough from slipping that it will not hold. Same problem on the Volvo 740, by the way. Peter

If it is not the mount screw...
I found that my passenger wiper had quit and the screw was tight. If you remove the kick panel onthe drivers side you can just (and I mean just) see the wiper motor way up under the dash. The arm that attaches to the motor to drive the passenger side has a little open ball type socket on it and all I had to do was to reach up there and push it back on. It's worked fine ever since.
