Turbo boost profile
Hi,
I posted a question earlier about the dawes boost controller. Today while driving, I wanted to go full throttle and see what my max PSI is, over the whole range of acceleration. What I found is that I can hit a hair over 9psi, when accelerating at about 3/4 throttle. At the MB 'full throttle conditions', i.e. accelerating at 4000RPM, 3rd gear, I found that My turbo only put out 8psi. The boost actually dropped! In normal driving, even under hard acceleration, 9psi is obtained, I just thought this phenomenon (which I repeated) was odd. Any ideas why it would act this way? Thanks, JMH |
The same way I get 13psi sometimes insted of the 12psi that I adjusted my wastegate to...
Little GREMLINS! :D |
Apparently, the wategate spring is weak. An external boost controller will help prevent the "leaking".
