Hi Dieselman.

Bummer,I hope everyone inside was OK.

Wing and hood should be no problem.
The roof is another story but then again,
everything is fixable with the right amount
of money.

Louis.

If the engine runs and the it's drivable, who cares how it looks! Just be glad you only bent the roof insted of landing on it.

mb123mercedes said it, if you are willing to fork over the cash, it should be fixable. If not, do like I said, drive it and wave off anyone who would dare say to junk it.

This wagon runs really good. I know this will be hard to believe but it starts at 8 degrees on the first crank. Tons of power no blow by. What about the frame. That was also a concern Any estimates on what kind of cost I am looking at. I will fix it. If you look closely in the pic you can see the front of the tennis shoe looking lexus my mom and dad purchased. I keep going out to the garage and looking at it thinking it might pull a Christine on me.

Thanks,
Dieselman

Well I tried to go around a turn a little to fast 70. I felt the front slip and I hit the breaks and I went off the road into a tree and then went over the side of the hill into the creek. I also have a huge dent in the oil pan. I drove it home. Car started up on the scene and all the guys were kind of shocked. It seems to want to pull to one side suddenly I think one of the tie rod arms is bent also. I plan to fix it. I have wanted one of these wagons for YEARS.

Looks very fixable to me, Before the Insurance Companies started blanket totaling cars because of age, cars with far worse damage than yours were fixed .There are never going to be cars made again that have overall satifaction of owning more than the classic Mercedes models.Keeping a nice TD on the road is something to be proud of.........

Yes, there is no frame on that car.

Your steering issues may be related to a bent tie rod, bent idle arm mount, and/or bent/damaged lower or upper control mounts.

Good luck!
