I recently purchased a 1983 300SD with 184,000 miles on it. While looking for the engine number for my 250Km award I noticed that the seam between the head & block seemed to have something seeping near cylinders 4-5.
It's not a leak, but looks like a wet spot. Should I be concerned? The oil was changed at 180,000 miles and is only down 1/2 quart. The coolant level in the resevoir is OK too. I also had the valves adjusted & a new valve cover gasket put on at 180K too. Thanks in advance. If I do need a new gasket, How much money am I looking at? ------------------ 1983 300SD 1999 New Beetle TDI 1958 Edsel Pacer |
