Dash board Squeaks a little

My new (to me anyway) 300D has a dash board that seems a little loose in the right hand corner. It squeaks. I know there are screws holding the dash secure. Those are accessed by removing the lower panel, maybe the blower motor and the glove box. But perhaps some movement is supposed to be there to allow expansion and contraction (and keep the dash from cracking). IF it is secured too tightly the dash may crack during expansion?

I can grap the end of the dash and move it maybe 1/16". Definitely the sqeaks are driving me nuts. Anyone have any experience tightening the fasteners?

Am I being paranoid? There is no crack on the dash yet except just towards the front of the car in front of the instrument panel. Trying to preserve the rest of it.
