shut off mystery.
Ok, I've whined about this before. the 240d won't shut off unless I open my door. However, if I park it and let it idle for a minute or two, it shuts off fine.
Or if I shut it off a few seconds right after I start it, it shuts off fine. So, I'm guessing there's a leak in the vacuum system that's causing the vacuum to dissapate as I drive, but is somehow "recharging" after I park it. So, what systems would be drawing on the vacuum whilst in motion? The tranny. Anything else? I put the mityvac onto the shut off valve itself and it works fine. But I drove the car around town with the mityvac hooked up to the tube for the shut off and parked it, shut iff the ignition, jumped out and check it quick. It's pulling a strong vacuum right from the start, it doesn't build up slowly as I thought it would (because of a leak). I have a spare shut off valve that I'll swap out as soon as the engine cools down, we'll see if that fixes it. BUt until then, any thoughts from the masters?
