You have a choice out your way? Here in NJ and other states where there is a real winter, the gas stations make the switch from summer diesel to winter diesel when the temps. start going down to freezing.

In your area #2 is fine and is probably what you'll get at 99% of the stations. If you anticipate going to Tahoe or other areas where lower temperatures can be anticipated, plan on filling up with #1 on arrival (or #1 enroute if you can find it). The main difference between #1 and #2 is the point at which the fuel starts to "gel".
