Looking at a diesel..

Found an '82 Euro 300D with a 4-speed. Green on Green Cloth.. looks mint and seems cheap with low miles. I have a hankerin' for another diesel

Green on green cloth= stylin'. Brings back memories when MBs came in colors other than black and silver.

Clutch repair is no big deal...... it amounts to $250 for dropping the tranny and maybe $250 in parts - disc, pressure plate, throw-out bearing. Dont let em plane the flywheel unless its really chewed up and make sure they use DOT 4 fluid in bleeding hydraulics. Best way to test the clutch is from standing start on steep hill. Fabric seats are worsted wool, said to be more comfortable than vinyl. Other Euro features include the highly desirable manual heat control system.

There was an identical car that sold on ebay awhile ago..... this could be the same car, i dunno.

TD:

I'll sleep better once you're back!

You have a price on that one?

Beautiful colors. Identical to one of my parts cars other than color.

Don

$2k. It needs a few things.. clutch in the near future, vacuum locks are weak, front rotors, retrofitted A/C system does not work. Has a few very small spots of rust. Overall I think it looks like an excellent example.

Is that color 'Thistle Green'?

Question- Why is the antenna on the front fender, rather than the back? I thought they moved it around '74-'75? I'm guessing euro cars had a power antenna as an option and the manual version went up front?

What is that switch above the TS stalk?

Some euro cars had the antenna up front. Has power sunroof but crank windows. Idle adjustment is the knob above the stalk.
