$60 pint of Sunroof Grease Lubricant !!!!
Generally speaking I don't think the prices of MB parts is all that high. Sure there are exceptions and the general maintainance items can be purchased for much less aftermarket.
However today I priced a pint of Sunroof grease at the local dealer.........$60!!!!!!!!! which I thought was outrageous. AND they didn't carry the product in a smaller tube (like wheel bearing grease). I ended up going to my mechanic who had a small bit left in an older can. |
I bought a small tube of sunroof lube from an online ebay retailer. I think the price was $5 and it was from ***************.
When I bought it was $53 for the can, I sprung for it and now have a lifetime supply. Makes great lube for other things besides sunroofs...and a little goes a long, long way.
Sunroof grease? It is right next to muffler grease at Pep Boys.
I wouldn't be so cavalier about that. Many very knowledgeable people have said to use only the genuine MB sunroof grease because it provides the proper lubrication without attracting dirt.
The MB sunroof lube is much better than anything else I've seen. It really does prevent the build-up of dirt and I recommend using it over anything else. ;)
Use only the MB sunroof paste -- it's the only thing that works properly. Rusty at *************** sells a 2 oz tin for $5.00.
That $60 tin will last a decent sized repair shop ten years. Peter |
Yes, Rusty is where I bought my small tin of the paste! Great people to work with!
