Squeaky self leveling rear suspension
Hello to everyone.
Whenever I'm travelling with a load in the back of my '83 300td wagon, everything with the self leveling rear suspension works as it should. The only problem is that when it engages, there is an annoying and rather loud squeak that comes from back there. It only happens when the rear of the car is trying to adjust itself. Any ideas? Is there something I can just grease to eliminate it? Or is it internal, like in the control valve or something? Thanks in advance! :p

Sounds to me like the position valve needs to be rebuilt. The FSM shows the procedure and the PN for the kit is 000 586 00 32.
It should be a reasonably straightforward project. I would take the opportunity, when repairing the valve, to change out the fluid and filter in the system too. A search in the forum for "SLS", "hydropneumatic", and "leveling suspension" should reveal most of the threads on the topic. Good luck.
