careless ebay listing

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6330&item=2463911799

you'd think people selling (or buying) a car on ebay would take the time to at least make sure that the listing makes some sense. How many problems can we find in this listing???

Well, the seller has already corrected two glaring mistakes. Pictures show its an "SD" ; not a 300. Pictures also appear to show that the seats are Tex rather than the advertised leather.

Seller also thinks the original Becker radio is a plus.

The seller is correct - those are leather seats, not tex. The original Becker radio can be a plus - many aftermarket radios are installed shoddily (butchered wiring, etc) by places like Best Buy and (short)Circuit City.

Not necessarily...if the car was maintained properly and the front end and tranny have been redone, I'd call it a fair bet that that car does drive like it's supposed to.

As someone once taught me, "If the person can't get details correct, you have to wonder how the rest of their job was done".

In this case, if the person can't get the obvious details properly correct on something as important as an eBay listing, how can you trust they properly managed care for the vehicle?

I wonder if the "tilt" steering wheel is an aftermarket addition?

I once vowed to never pursue a vehicle that talked about "tilt" steering on older MBs and Jags. It just shows me they know very little about the cars and I consider it an indicator that they are probably wrong with other claims. But right now I'm actually gathering info on a 400E that dealer states "tilt" wheel. Go figure.
