Possible cylinder leak?
I noticed the other day when I was working on my injectors on my 300D that I had some bubbles coming from the prechamber area at the cylinder head. Some fuel had leaked into the goove of the prechamber retainer when I reinstalled the injector at #5. I'm not sure if this was actual leaking from the prechamber itself or if it was just the fuel boiling from the heat of the cylinder head when it was running. These bubbles were very small so I'm not sure what's going on there. I do know that compression is slightly lower in that cylinder. I guess a leak down test may be in order or should I just replace the O-ring that is in this pre-chamber?

I have the exact same problem. The #3 cylinder leaks air at the key hole the prechamber fits in. This created a misfire when the engine is under 40*c and goes away completely above 60*c.
When I get the chance, I'll pull the 4 remaning old PC's and replace the seal rings they sit on. At $100 a pop, I won't be replacing the PC unless they really need it. Side note: This appeared when my engine stalled from sucking in water at 1000rpm. |
