W115 -> W123 seat base interchange

Anyone here know offhand if the W123 and W115 front seat bases are interchangeable?

Hey there R Leo, if you search my old posts there are pics, but are you going 115 into 123 or the other way? I'll try to find the post..O.K didn't have pics but heres a paste of the post

.I just finished putting the front seats from an '82 123 240d into my '76 116. They don't exactly slip right in. You have to unscrew the rails on both seats, then on the passenger seat drill out the rivet holding the rear riser and enlarge the hole to match the bolt size. On the front you just plain snap off the square metal riser and then the spacing fits the bolt holes. On the driver side remove the springs on the height adjuster or its too hard to line up the holes to unscrew the rails, then drill out the insert that fills the front hole, enlarge the back holes and then after all that it slips right in!

That's 123 seats going into 115...

123 going into 115 is what I'm wondering about. I have a 123 parts car and a 115 with a bagged-out driver's seat.

I saw your 123 to 116 post...the 116 is really different from a 115. It's analogous to 126 -> 123.

I searched and nothing 115 specific came up in the first dozen or so pages.

OK, I'm confused. Did you put the seats from a 123 into a 116 or 115?

Yeah, it was way in the early ones, and I edited out the part were I wrote that I didn't know if it would help her but I had done the 123 seat to 115 body. So, yes it works but by the time you get rid of the height adjuster it does drop the seats a little lower so seeing over the dash can but a problem if you have a short driver using the car...

tried putting a w123 seat into my old w115. does not work.
rails on the 115 are higher. the 123 will sit much lower. the
seat backs fit and are an improvement. the covers fit.

Randy, OK better box it up for shipping. I have a friend that put 123 seats in a 116 also but had not heard about putting them a 115. Actually when you take the rails off that passenger seat bottom you could stick it in the car and see what its like before you ship it.
