new 300sd conversion thread

I would like to use a 1980 280SE euro w126 chassis that has a manual 4 speed as a parts car to convert a 1982-1985 w126 300sd to manual. Will the transmission and all its related parts fit into the diesel car? Would it be a straight bolt on affair? Also i want to swap in the other euro parts (Climate control, & Manual door locks).

AFAIK 126 chassis are the same so mechanically the swap should be fine. I'm in RI too and would like to see the beast when you are done. RT
