300series engine compartment differences
 

I ve been looking at alot of 300d & 300TD engine compartment photos lately and i notice the location of the air cleaner sometimes on top of the turbo and sometimes in the Right front corner. Could someone let me know which years got what or was ot a euro/U.S. model difference or was it a turbo/non turbo difference? :confused:

Front right corner is a California car.

the ones with the air filter in the right front corner are 1985
california turbos with the trap oxidizer (or its repacement the
trap catalist) emmissions control setup.
