Gas to diesel engine swap

I posted this eariler and it did not go through.

I have a 92 300 TE wagon and have a chance to buy a wrecked 1995 300D. Sicne my gas engine leaks oil and the trans no longer goes in reverse I was planning on a swap of the engine and trans into the 300 TE wagon.

Is this a tough job. Is it impossible, some modifications or just simply a bolt up. I will have both cars side by side and have a lift and other tools.

Thanks

Dan

I've wondered about this too. Since there seems to be an abundance of VERY good condition 126 gassers for sale, I've wondered about picking one up and sticking the 617 in it....or the same for my _wanted_ 190E and drop in a 2.5D Turbo

Anyone know if there are any *gotchas* or is it pretty much an R&R job?
