EGR cover plate
Anyone got an extra cover plate laying around, or can make one easily? I would like to just remove my EGR set up completely. Don't have the tools much less the scrap metal to make one myself. Maybe some day.
Thanx in advance. coachgeo@hotmail.com. 300dt 1983 located in FL

The exhaust manifold side is kind of a PITA to seal but the intake manifold side is easy to make out of aluminum stock.

I seem to remember a thread where someone was talking about possibly making the covers for both ends and selling them.....
I'd buy a set in a heartbeat for the right price.

The thread is here:
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?threadid=73877&perpage=15&pagenumber=2 I'd also be interested in buying something like that. Good instructions on how to do it (the intake manifold end is easy like BoostnBenz said; I've done that. But the other end...) would be enough for me though, I'm reasonably adept if I have some idea what I'm doing :-).

I was thinking about doing this at one point in time but due to the annoying exhaust manifold plate I don't know.... I was going to get a hole saw and take the center bit out then use that on the drill press but getting the right size saw may be difficult. Then again if I did it with aluminum it'd be easier than with the sheet metal I used. My last parts order included ~8 EGR gaskets but if I'll ever do it... who knows. It is easy if you are willing to ruin your flex pipe but if not it isn't so easy.
