injector line leak on 190D 1986 2.5
One of the lines (cyl #5) seems to be leaking at the IP , even after tightening it down, in the past I have replaced #4 line for the same reason.
I do use the holddown clamps that clasp it to the intake at various points with the plastic clips but I drive a bit on washboard roads and dirt roads and they jar loose and this seems to vibrate and fracture the lines. Can I bend tubing to the same shape, flare them and use it or am I restricted to paying $45 per line from MB USA ?? |
Buy the line, I don't think you will be able to make one up for less.
Besides, the MB line will fit exactly, and they are terribly fragile. The only thing I don't like about this engine. Peter |
Psfred,
I can make one (double flared) for $6, versus 45 for the MB one. Agreed, these lines are a major PITA, compare them to the steel tanks in the 617 series. Hari |
