Where is the starter interupt switch?
I'm starting to have trouble starting my car when its in park. When I move the gearshift down to neurtral it then starts fine, so I know I either have a problem with bad shift linkage bushings or a bad switch. Does anyone know where the switch is? Is it outside on the transmission or inside under the center console?
Thanks. GregS '84 300D, 183k '90 300CE, 173k |
It's on the side of the transmission right where the shaft that meets the shift rod goes into the transmission. If there's any fore-aft play in the shift lever, you have worn shift rod bushings.
