Oil leak - fix it or leave it alone?

My 1984 380Sl has developed a slow oil leak that really bugs me.

Is it something we just have to put up with when owning a 20-year old 107 or would you try to put a stop to it? The beast leaves about 1/4 oz on the garage floor every day.

Would appreciate your advice.

I don't know exactly where it's leaking in the front end. Will get it up on a hoist this weekend hopefully.

Hey, that's something I never would have thought of. My inclination though is to attempt a more conventional fix first. Do you think that most 107's have an oil leak issue of one degree or another?

Beautiful car, low miles. Get the leak fixed right. I am committed to keeping my '89 560 in tip top shape and to fixing things as they go wrong since the car is such a classic.

Fix it a car its probably a dried out gasket. also you mite want to in the future post your questions in th Tech section as there maybe someone more familiar with your engine then us diesel lovers.
Good luck
PS I also think you should sell that car to me and I'll fix the leak .

Thanks for the offer Rdanz but you will get very old waiting for me to sell this baby! You're probably right about the gasket. I'll know for certain next week.
