This was done and sold for a while by aftermarket people. I drove one in Weatherford Texas back in 1991. Lots of body twist and not stable on the road. It was nice but does have its problems. The aftermarket company that did it out square channel in the rocker panels. And the fit and trim of the ragtop was poor.
Someone also did this to a SEL somewhere. Converted it to a 2 door and chopped the top off.
