Obviously, this person was the one who always asked, " Does spelling, ( or clear thinking) count"?

adamb 04-29-2004 07:58 AM

I would bet the guy is foreign. Therefore, he is one language ahead of the majority of us and we have no room to be critical.

mb123mercedes 04-29-2004 08:22 AM

"Moe" doesn't sound foreign to me.

Sellers ID "moe300gt"

Misspelling on ebay is the subject of this article:

Misspelling for cash.

The gist of it: Some ebayers search for auctions with gross misspellings. Since few people see these auctions, the items often sell for low bids. The purchaser then turns around and resells the item for a profit in a properly spelled listing.

I agree with adamb; years ago I was working as a bartender in Amsterdam, there was this new busboy from Morocco who didn't speak the language that well and because of that we treated him like an idiot, only to found out later he was fluent in French, Arab, Spanish and German and he was an engineer coming to Holland for some additional study's.
And in less then a year he spoke the language fluent.

Who where the idiots!? But he could have used a spell checker.
