240D vacuum system?

I aquired an 82 240 and only have a 300D to compare systems.

240D
On the top of the IP there is a vacuum chamber with no hose. Where does it go?

300D
The same vacuum chamber a hose goes to a vac solinoid behind the brake booster.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanx

Acronyms............

I just figured it out IP......... injection pump........ thanks for the pictures.

The 300D is a turbo and the device in question is the aneroid. On the 240D it is only used to compensate for altitude thus it is open. On the turbo it also reads boost and changes the mixture for matching the extra air with extra fuel. The line never has vacuum in it as diesels don't have manifold vacuum. They do have boost in the line though. It IS NOT a vacuum line.
