82 300sd

Good Evening everyone, dad seems to have found a 1982 300SD for sale in lower orange county area. He's wondering if we should get it and maybe replace my 87 300D, or the 83 300D with it. It has a slighty damaged left fender and 179,000 on the odo. Asking for $1100. Engine idles really well and looks very clean. Anyone else might be interested?

You could pick up a fender at Sun Valley or other MB salvage yard ,pretty simple bolt on job.you might get lucky and find one of the same color any of the 126's models will fit.......

For the price, I would buy it for the parts alone.
If it runs and does not need major service, you got lucky.
Best advice:
A spare car is like a spare tire, in the way all the time, but you are happy to have it when your prime vehicle goes down.

Well.. my dad decided to buy it. Said it rans very well. Pictures will come this weekend. As if my car knew this was coming or something, it decides to be troublesome. Just today, it has started to leak fuel. Not sure from where, but there's a small puddle and the oil pan is moist from diesel. Where can the leak possibly be?

check the return lines that go between the injectors ,check with engine running fuel will run down side of block.there are other places that can leak but should be easy to see...........
