What Do You Think? 240D For Sale
I am really thinking about seeing this car over the week-end. I currently have a 2000 SL 500 but would like a bullet proof diesel to get me around during the work week. Here is the link. Any comments ? Thanks

240Ds are extremely durable. Im sure you know. The one you linked looks exceptionally nice for $2500.
The paint looks faded but it doesnt look bad. The interior looks very good, if not great. It looks like its been well maintained. I wouldnt hesitate to look at it. If you do decide to go for it, make sure you go to a mechanic to have it inspected before purchase. Im not sure where you are located, but there is a great mechanic in Sacramento if you are anywhere near. Paul European Sportscar Garage 916-441-5412 1929 16th st. on the corner of 16th & T. Well known, and very honest guy with reasonable rates and exceptional customer service. I would though reccomend a 1984 or 85 300DT over a 240D, meerly because it has much more power, and can cruise at higher speeds on the highway. My friend has a 240D and it sounds like its going to explode at 65MPH. You can take a 300DT up to 100MPH (a well maintaned one) and barely notice that youre driving a diesel. Not to mention a 300DT can at least get out of its own way (i.e. highway entrance and merging, pulling out of driveways onto high speed parkways, etc.) At any rate, either car is a great choice! Good luck!

Nice looking 240D! I would highly recommend one with a manual tranny. Other than that it looks like a nice one.

selouis,
I would not buy any Diesel other than a turbo: More power, better fuel mileage and just as reliable. P E H |
