Wrong. Only around 40% of the petroleum used here is produced here (http://api-ec.api.org/filelibrary/FebImports.pdf).

IMO two things need to happen: people need to junk their gas-guzzling SUV's unless they really need them, and the government needs to get more serious about biodiesel. Then we wouldn't have to import oil at all.
Most of the famous uber-left wingers in Hollywood are pretty wastefull themselves....but then we should have a law about practicing what you preach. There would be a lot of people clamming up if that ever happened.

Biodiesel is good idea but no way can they use that to cover the 60 percent of oil that is imported................

These people I heard whining on the news about people moving further and further out of the city.

Well in my area anyone making less than $60K a year HAS to get 50+ miles out of the city to find a property they qualify to buy without winning the lottery jackpot.

I do agree with the issue of the smallest women driving the biggest trucks.....to go grocery shopping no less, Alone......

Soccor moms need a station wagon, Maybe a mini-van, they DON'T need a 3 ton truck.

I own a diesel truck, but I only drive it when I need to haul something that won't fit in my car.

My data may be wrong, but I stand by what I said. Less gas-guzzling + more biodiesel = less imported oil (and cleaner air).

I don't doubt there are some..................but how many just sit there for show while their Hummers and limos shuttle them around. ANd the Energy for the A/C to cool their 15,000 + sq foot mansions.

I know there are a small handfull who might actually do as they preach. Electric takes a lot to generate also....... Its not just what you pump into the fuel tank.

Well it will help, but isn't a viable primary source for most of the energy needs. Heck I am looking into doing it myself.

Got the source fro WVO locked up, Now to figure out how to make the biodiesel.
