Cool FYI: Interchange stuff..

I'm probibly a dummy in the long run, but that's another story.

I went back to work at a salvage yard here. I have access to Hollander and the Eden network and all that crud. I thought I'd mention this as it has a pretty decent interchange catalog, as in what other models will this part fit on, or what other models can I find this part on? I'm going to compile a common list and post them somehow, diff's, axles, driveshafts, etc, etc, major hard parts and what fits where in what years. It's reasonably accurate, but as always, beware. Just thought I'd mention it.

That is a great idea... you are on the right track with those things... until someone thinks of other specific things they are needing...
Injection pumps might be a good addition...

The above mentioned are most important plus Alternators and electric antennas were used on jags and another car I think. Turbo’s would be nice too so I could sell the rice rocket crowed my extras. God this could be one useful list!!

I'll get started monday.

The way it works more or less is, say I put in an 83 300D, and call up a half shaft, I hit interchange, and it will tell me what that same shaft is used in. I can print this list. Idealy, there is one of you that's a wiz with some office app and can make a database maybe or something in excell and give it all a pretty package.

This may sound like an odd request..

3-port and 6-port fuel selector solinoids.

Try Ford F-Series pickups and Econoline vans... I've picked up several 3 port valves @ $2 each from my local U-Pull-It. The dual tank pickups and vans have 6 port valves while the single tank versions have 3 port. Most mid eighties and newer trucks have had them. The valves are located on the drivers-side undercarriage ~ halway from the tank to the engine. Note these are exactly the same 3 port valves that are sold for $40+ on WVO conversion sales sites.

I spent the better part of a weekend under many dual tank trucks/econoline vans. I found many combiners but no manual or electric operated valves. I guess the ones I was looking at were too new.

Early 80's chevy trucks with dual tanks had them I know, electric switch on dash. Later square body ford trucks had them as well.

On the interchange, this is it..

Wolf,

What other lower steel oil pan fits an '80 300SD? Does a 220D or 240D fit the 300SD?

I thought I posted this before but I couldn't find my post.

Thankyou.
