Recently a mechanic replaced my steering box and aligned my steering wheel. My Turn signals no longer work correctly. If I am at or close to a dead stop and apply my signal they come on correctly and turn off when the steering is turned back in the opposite direction like normal. If I am driving with much forward movement and apply the signal I have to turn them off manually at the completion of the turn. Do you think he may have applied lubrication causing a lack of friction. I'm not really sure what is supposed to turn them on and off.

There may be something specific here that techs will know about but in a general way I would be worried that the steering column was loose or the steering boxwas loose. If the trouble only occurs when the car is moving it sounds like the whole steering column could be moving up and down its axis. That would be worth checking as a safety issue. In any case the guy that worked on the car should make it right for you.

There is some misalignment inside of the column housing, giving you poor performance on turn signal cancellation. Does not have anything to do with steering box. It sounds as if the position of the turn signal switch is not properly set.
