Hey everyone. This may be a rare question, possibly not
My project car, 1980 300TD(NA), was parked outside of my house near an oak tree. To my horror some branch had fallen and spiderweb-ed the windshield. The horror part is that in sunny south Florida a no deductible replacement only happens with Comprehensive coverage...oh well.
On a positive note, when I take the windshield out I will have the room to replace the deteriorated foam on the center vent louvers in the a/c system. These louvers duct the air to the center vents for ac or the defrost vents. When I repaired the ac system I thought it was quite a tight squeeze so I left them alone. Problem is that now the cold air goes through the defrost ducts and fogs the window with condensation(on the outside).
Has anyone ever rebuilt or replaced the rubber/foam around those ac doors? AND how tough is it to replace a windshield, they tend to be mighty expensive
Thanks all!\
Todd
