Thanks Leathermang, I just ran it by the CFO...she says it's be great if we had the disposable cash.....

Funny how I get overridden every time I go up against the CFO!!

Sure would like to have the parts though....

$550 is too much for that junker and I'd be astonished if it gets a single bid. Geez, I know where I can get a non-running anthricite/gray, no rust, good leather, California 126 diesel for $200+ change!

If you REALLY want it, go and offer them $150 after auction closes. You might be surprised.

"entropy workshop."
Someday I am going to complete a project and you will feel guilty for calling it that...

" I know......California 126 diesel "
I keep learning accidentally that you know of these things... aren't you supposed to be telling ME this FIRST ?

And, if frogs had wings, they wouldn't bump their asses on the ground either.

Greg's as good as gold. When I get back, we should all hook-up some evening.

This is the one that interests me: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6332&item=2481248522

Carve that 5.6 out of the thing; replace it with a good, solid OM617.952 out of a wagon (for the SLS pump) and presto! You have a 300SDL that will NEVER bend a rod.

R Leo you sparked my interest with your post and I live in the neighborhood. I may see if I can check this one out in person.

Does anyone know what kind of interior that is?

My 84 300SD has the same interior but not in near that good of condition. It may be worth a little for the interior to me.

I don't think I am ready to spend $550+ to have a non-running car in my driveway though.
