Bid amount

I don't know what the amount was at the time of your post, but usually the serious activity happens at auction end. Snipe.....

Maybe just because the auction has a poor layout and pictures, the location doesn't help.

He mentions "a few small scratches and dents", but doesn't show them. People don't like those kind of surprises.

If it was across town, I would go look at it.

The 2.5 doesn't have any serious flaws like the mandatory new head or anything, does it? Is this the same 2.5 as was in the 190?

buying a car on ebay

I think it's too easy to buy a bad car on ebay. Unless you have an honest person who owns the car, has records and you are able to see and inspect the car, I think it is best to steer away.

Its tough enough to buy a car in your home town, let alone across the country.

I'd only buy a newish car if buying out of state. There aren't as many surprises with a newer car than one with 180,000 miles, which can have a very subjective description.

I've bought two cars out of state from eBay with positive results, one with 52,000 miles, the other with 12,000 miles. Both were from Florida and the dealers selling them had a good pedigree with lots of positive feedback. This guy has no feedback. Only buy from this guy if you can see the car first.

Right-O...........I got burned recently by a guy who SERIOUSLY misrepresented some items......they were pure crap. Paypal only goes after them if they didn't ship. Not if they shipped something totall worthless and useless.

I had to contest with the credit card company to get my money back. E-bay did nothing, paypal did less than nothing, but thank goodness my credit card company took it serious.

My 300SD was bought cross country on e-bay........but the seller had over 150 pos feedback and the car was delivered as advertised. But I got lucky. Have been burned twice for over $200 by crooked E-bay sellers.

Somehow charge it 100% against your credit card if you go for it. Your credit card company is theONLY people on your side in this case in case it turns out bad.

Sorry

I am not impressed by this car.
To many questions that would require a full teardown to verify.
Have a nice day.

I have bought 3 vehicles on e bay. This one has zero feedback. I typicly look for at least 30 positives where they were a seller.

I actually went to have a look at this car and couldn't find the dealership in the location they told me.

It's the 2nd time this car's been up on ebay too.
