Miami Vice

This is easy because it was the 80s.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cars_in_Miami_Vice

I cannot recall the episode but I was looking through the season 2 or 3 DVD and there is a black w126 driven by the bad guys as a getaway car after a drug ripoff/killing. It has ground effects, a spoiler, monotone paint. So I'm thinking 500SEC AMG kit...then they take off "fast". The car gets back on its rear suspension and leisurely hustles off rolling coal!

I busted out laughing. The producers were too cheap and used a 300sd, debadged it and put wings all over it but at the end of the day it rolls coal in the getaway. They cover up the engine noise with 80s synthesizer music.

Not sure if this was mentioned already - George Clooney rides in one to his torturing in Syriana.

I got to this thread late.

In the 1950s-60s there was a series of detective movies in Germany based on a famous 1930s villain called Dr. Mabuse. At one point, the detective in that series drove a black Mercedes 190D (OM621!), it was his official police ride.

By the way, the actor who played that detective was none other than Gert Froebe, later known to all as Auric Goldfinger, in the James Bond movie of the same name.
