Brake caliper ID

Any brake experts out there that can tell me if this is a bendex or ATE type caliper?

I'd like to redo the seals, but I don't know which kit to get.

JamesStein,

Wire brush the outside surface of the caliper and take another photo. There is usually a trademark type of symbol cast into the outside surface, either "ATE" in cursive, sort of, if it is an ATE caliper. I have not seen a Bendix myself, so I am not familiar with their symbol. Consequently I would tend to categorize ones that are known to be ATE as ATE and all others as Bendix. Good luck, Jim

Dude:
The name should be cast on the right side (as looking at your pic) of the caliper....
Clean it it could be crudded-up....

When you took this off the car, were the pads still in the caliper? If so, was there a folded sheet metal cross kind of device covering the pads and held in by the two cross pins? If the answer to all of this is yes, then the caliper is an ATE. The device on the Bendix that does the same thing looks different, but can't remember exactly what those look like. Mine are all ATE's.

By the way, you should be able to see pictures of the calipers on the parts ordering area of the Fastlane portion of this site.

I spent a great deal of time looking at the pictures on Fastlane and couldn't 'match' mine with them.

That there would be a stamp on them didn't occur to me. They are ATE. Thanks!
