Recommendations for a MB parts supplier that ships USPS?

Can anyone recommend a good MB part supplier that will ship by USPS Priority Mail? I asked Phil and he's not aware of any.

I know many small places, even dealers, are willing to ship through the Post Office, but I have not found any that sell MB parts with good prices. My local MB dealer is really a GM and KIA dealer that picked up MB as a sideline and they are boneheads in the truest sense of the word!

My problem is that the only UPS or FedEx to Alaska is overnight which gets pretty spendy.

Thanks for any and all leads!

Chuck

I've used Caliber Motors for years with my SL, they've been great to deal with. Give them a call.

Caliber motors has good prices, but I would watch out for their shipping practices. Their shipping dept seems to ship out one or two things at a time via FEDEX overnight which causes the shipping charges to add up quickly. I placed an order for multiple items from Caliber Motors and I received packages from them every day of the week. They don't seem the understand the concept of holding a shipment until all the parts are in stock. I figure that I have paid at least $30 in extra shipping fees.

Thanks for the tips (keep 'em coming!).

FedEx is as spendy as UPS 2nd day, so I'm going to put an order together and see if Caliber has the prices and shipping charges to make them the best choice.

I got a couple of PM's that have some promising information as well.

A brief history lesson (if anyone is interested): Until the Alaska Highway was put through (1942?) Seattle ships had a monopoly on shipping up here, and they just about strangled the golden goose! The highway and shipping improvements have brought prices down significantly, but it is still quite expensive to ship anything here. UPS and FedEx don't do ground here and some of the other shippers (Airborne etc.) air freight to Anchorage then they DROP IT IN THE MAIL! I paid $50 to get a camera overnighted here by Airborne and it took 8 days!!! Well enough of this rant, I hope to find a more economical way to get parts since sometimes the UPS shipping charge was more expensive than the part...I still wouldn't live anywhere else

Caliber will have factory only parts AND sometimes those parts are less money AND better than the aftermarket parts.
