Oil cooler lines. What should be a 1 hour job easily turns into several hours when you have to remove the motor mount to get out the lines and am praying to not lose any of the bolts or for none of them to be stripped or stuck. You also end up covered in more oil than a bird that flew into the Exxon Valdez.

Close second for me was breaking the thermostat housing bolts at 11 o'clock on a Saturday night while trying to fix the cooling system.

Anything involving computerized electronics. Mechanical things I can fix/understand, (like the 123), computer glitches (24V Dodge diesel) drive me nuts.
