Your second sender needs to have the same ohm range as your primary sender and gauge. Aftermarket VDO gauges all use 10-180 ohms, but I'm not sure if OEM VDO applications use the same range. Easy to check with a meter and a stock sender. As far as switching goes, you need a 3 pole on/on switch that is available from www.waytekwire.com or similar places. The center post goes to the gauge, and the 2 outer posts go to the 2 senders.
Good luck.

If you are using a Pollock motorised valve, it has contacts for switching the fuel tank senders built into the valve, and this valve is available in a 6 port, (2 change over valves) which allows both the fuel delivery and fuel return to be switched.
I have mine on order, to complete my WVO conversion.
