Turbo inlet housing

2 Attachment(s)
I am doing some modes on my 603 (adding an water/air intercooler and such) and need some room under the hood of my G300. The factory turbo inlet housing has the, (now plugged) pollution control unit built into the inlet housing. I would like to find one without this. This is a new turbo from the factory so I don't really want to replace the whole turbo just the inlet housing.
(photos are examples for reference)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

Do you have any more side shots of that "thing"? I have never seen something like that, it almost looks like a wastegate actuator or some such thing.

Its a recirc aka bypass valve. Not really emissions related.

Thanks for clarifying.

If you need clearance I'd braze a plate in the opening and cut off any excess. "Alladin" white metal rods can be used to braze aluminum with a regular old MAPP gas torch(probably propane too if you're patient).

FYI-the alladin rods work well if you prep the surface with lye and a stainless wire brush immediately before brazing.

Thanks for the suggestion I may give it a try if I can't find a replacement housing.
Non of the euro turbos have this attachment.

I opted to remove the offending protrusion and make a cover plate.

Took a run to Asheville NC for the Overland Expo.
Drove perfectly.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
