Another suggestion

Would we get in trouble with whoever ran whatever park we were in if we had Mercedes-related flea market stuff? Would it distract from the other things we were doing?

Now for my troubleshoot... actually my guess that whatever your camera [digital still in video mode or some kind of video only camera]... whatever you used was new enough technology to probably have both automatic focus and exposure features and these are the likely cause of the "fuzzy focus". This can occur because the automatic focus was locked in on your dash and the auto exposure was influenced by the dark interior of the car and this means it opened up the camera's aperature such that you had a very narrow "depth of field and/or focus". You got that!!?
Tell us what you shot this with and I might give you a solution to the problem!
Regards,

Thanks for the feedback. The shots are taken from my 5 megapixel olympus c-5050 zoom camera, and other shots are sourced from other members that posted up pictures. There are 2 problems though. 1. The outputted video is 40 megabytes in wmv format. 2. There is some additional loss when the video is converted on google videos. So, I'll make a much larger video and rehost. Hopefully there will be less loss.

Thanks again!

edit: Fixed, definately sharper than before. I've encoded the video to google's recommendations.: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=746720323513149325&hl=en

we should torrent the video. it would be the fastest and easiest way to distribute the video.

Showing my age...!!

I guess I'm showing my age and your report above tells me that I'm off base with my speculation as to the cause. Yep, it looks like it most likely happened when your original digital video was compressed.

I'm not up on the "lingo' that "JustinWrock" used when he said "We should torrent the video. it would be the fastest and easiest way to distribute the video"... but surely there is a way we can fit it on DVD [probably too big for a CD] and ask those who want a copy to place their order and charge a small fee to keep us realistic... and finally to simplify things we could make delivery at our next G2G in... EastBay???

Edit: I'm pressing my Indy mechanic friend to bring is 1957 190 gaser !

Is your mechanic Karl?

That's ok, it's likely that it could have been the cause of the grainyness. But since you haven't seen the source, that's as good a guess as anyother. Thanks again for your assistance. It's pretty frustrating to figure out how to compress the file optimally.

Torrenting would be a good idea, but many users may not be too savvy about that stuff. Maybe someone has some server space for http download? In the meantime I am working on a better method to put a higher quality video on google. I can of course provide an even higher res video on disc to give at the next meet.

I work for the IT department here at school (University of the Pacific).

We have 3 DS3 lines, and unlimited bandwidth. I will see if I can host.

Regards,
Great! That's my mechanic too. He said that he wanted to bring his 190 to a future meet, and let him know. Small world, eh?

I'm guessing march or april

My buddy got a really nice 77 300d yesterday, it is amazing. Maple Yellow with tobacco interior. Original owner, 143k and pretty sweet. Maybe my brother will be in town for the next one, so that would net 4 cars, 77 300d, 79 300d, 79 300d and 83 300d.

Check it:

WOW!!!!!!! That is CLEAN!!!! LOVE the color.

I have been swamped with school work but I will post unofficial plans & a route suggestion over the weekend.. I'll have some time to do so then. Erik sent me maps of a really nice route through the east bay hills and it looks like it will appeal to everyone... keep your eyes peeled for it. I'd agree with Zack, April sounds like a good month for the next one.

MAN that car is clean!!
