M-100 Group's Lode Star Fest, Paul Bracq, W113 Pagoda SL Group
If you drive an M-100 powered car or a W113 chassis SL then you should be at this event!
The M-100 Group (www.m-100.cc) is holding their annual Lode Star Fest in St. Louis, Missouri from Wednesday June 9 through Saturday June 12. The featured guest will be Mr. Paul Bracq, designer of many Mercedes-Benz cars including the W113 Pagoda and the sedans utilizing the M-100 engine. Due to Mr. Bracq's connection with the W113 chassis, the W113 Pagoda SL Group has been invited to attend and participate in the meet. Mr. Bracq will be in attendance during the entire event and he will always have an interpreter with him. He speaks French and German. Special considerations are being made to make this a worth while and enjoyable event for the W113 enthusiast. For example, parts of the tech sessions will specifically address Pagoda issues and Mr. Bracq plans to be interviewed by a member of the W113 Pagoda SL Group for Pagoda World. The event registration fee for "General Admission" is $300. This includes the lunches and dinners, the tech sessions, and the concourse. Members of the M-100 Group will be charged $250. Full Members of the W113 Pagoda SL Group will be charged $250. Basic Members of the W113 Pagoda SL Group will be charged $275. http://www.sl113.org/membership/default.asp An overview of the schedule is as follows: June 9 - Informal evening dinner reception June 10 - Morning tech sessions - Lunch at Hunter Classics (MB Collector) - Afternoon tech session - Dinner at a Missouri winery 90 minutes outside St. Louis June 11 - Morning tech sessions - Lunch at Kemp Mercedes (MB Museum) - Afternoon drag races & dyno tests at Gateway International Speedway - Formal sit-down dinner with Mr. Bracq as featured speaker June 12 - Swap meet and concourse including W113 class The M-100 Group will be taking all registrations and will confirm W113 Pagoda SL Group memberships for the discount. If you have any questions about the event, please contact the M-100 Group through their web site listed above. See you in St. Louis! Although I don't own an m-100, I plan to come to the concourse on Saturday but you don't mention where it is. I think I remember somebody saying it was in Forest Park. Do you know where it's going to be (i.e. at the art museum, golf course, history museum etc...)?
Thanks Peter |
Are you registering for the event? If so, I assume they will tell you directions then. If you just want to stop by on Saturday to see the concourse, then you will have to contact the M-100 Group and ask if it's open to the public, what the admission price may be, the hours it's being held, etc.
