Hi, I am new to the site. I had a 92 400 E that I sold this past month to a nice guy from Atlanta and he directed me to this great site.

I ordered in January a CLK 320 Cab in white with a black top and ash interior. The dealer tells me it will be a Sept or Oct. delivery and a 2001 model. The only feature that I had the factory add was the multi contour seats, which I have not ever seen however I need some lumbar support due to ruptured discs in my lower back.

First of all does anyone have any feedback on the CLK??? Pros or cons. I know three people who have them and their cons are limited trunk space under 8 cubic feet. Limited visibility when looking to the rear. & one complained that the car sits to low and there isn't enough elevatioin in the seat therefore in long distances his back bothered him.

I have only test driven one a short distance and I tried both the 320 and 430 models and preferred the 320 primarily due to the price difference of $7,500.

Today the dealer called to tell me he may have one in that was not delivered although it was black with a charcoal interior. Here in Florida that would be like an oven inside with the top down I think, so I passed on it. However another one that they just got in for a customer was silver with and ash top and interior and wow did it look sharp so I am now debating on changing from white with the black top to that combination. Does anyone have feed back on the maintenance of a silver car.

Sorry for the long post I just am tring to make sure I am making a wise decission.

Looking forward in visiting this site very often.

Jim,

Personally, I might as well shave out extra $$$ to get Xenon lights, which will performance WAY better then conventional lights. It will keep you more alert during night driving, and light up the road 2x better.

As for Cons and Pros. Well, here they are.

Pros

Handsome Looking

Practical Trunk(top up)

Tight finish

Not So Bad gas mileage(V6)

Cons[list]

No tilt steering

large blind spot when the top is up(as with all convertible

Material used under-par(compare to older Mercedes

No Manual(for me anyways...you can ignore this one)

Overall, it's a very unique, greatly designed/build Mercedes.

Enjoy your new car

I agree with andy. Get Zenon lights. Besides the fact that there is a big plastic bucket like thing in the center rear seat, the CLK is a great car. Happy motoring.

Chuck
