C-Series Repair / Service Manual?

I'd like to start doing minor service and repairs, oil changes, tune ups and the like on my 95 C220 and 00 C230. Any recommendations for manuals on light maintenance? I know there is a Haynes manual available, but don't know if there might be a better choice.

Thanks,

BBC

Not that I know of. I have a subscription for my C230 at Alldata and I think it is a piece of cr**. Some people have said decent things about it but I don't think they had it for the C series. As an example, when you actually can find info pertaining to what you are doing (maybe half the time) and you click on it, it often brings up pictures of the W124 (and says so). Handy!

I have found the Haynes more helpful but it does not have any useful wiring diagrams. Alldata has these but they are broken up into so many small parts they are very hard to use. Give me a hard copy any day. I haven't heard much good about the Mercedes "CD" manual either. The pros use a service that costs about 2,995.00 I think. Good luck. Hopefully someone else has a better answer.

The Factory Service Manual that Mercedes sells on CD is not great, but it's much better than nothing and goes WAY beyond Haynes. It's well worth the $120 or so it will cost you from FastLane.

However, I don't know if there is one available for either C-class (W202 or W203)! The ones I know are available are for the 114/115, 123, 124, 126, 107, and 201. Maybe somebody else knows for sure.

Sure, but what about the previous generation C-class? Or the W140? Or the R129? All of these are getting cheap enough to be attractive to DIYers.

The 140 and 129 manuals were recently released by MBUSA on DVD (instead of CD).
