Recommended Shops in NW Indiana/South Chicago
 

Hello,

I'd appreciate hearing about recommended shops in the Chicago suburbs in NW Indiana (Michigan City/Valparaiso/Chesterton/Portage/Hobart/Merrillville) or South Chicago. Experience with 126's and 124's would be a big plus.

There's a Mercedes mechanic in Merrillville. It's called Wolf's Foreign Auto Service. I have heard positive things about them, but I personally wouldn't recommend them. I took my '83 300d Turbo to get a power steering line replaced. The mechanic was very unsociable and it took him over a week to finally fix the problem. I later found out that he actually lost my key...my only key...(I had just bought it and hadn't had a second made yet). So personally, I won't go back there.
