not sure if it is a true hammer, the 2 that i have seen have the 117 engine, but different cylinder heads, and definately would not have the standard black 117 engine valve covers. please correct me if i am wrong

retract your statement

it is not an AMG Hammer but more or less an AMG "Mallet". It uses the SOHC heads due to space limitations but was still tuned and worked on by AMG. Ask iWrock about the car

This sounds like a bunch of guys sitting around in a bar criticizing a woman that none of us would ever have a chance of getting . . . . "She may be a MODEL, but she's no SUPER model . . . . "

It's a beautiful wagon. It's being sold by one of our own forum members.

Lol.....wow I don't even know where to begin w/ this statement. While this car has been extensively restored, it is actually representative of a very unique and tasteful vintage AMG. There will definitely be takers, trust me. The car has already been featured in several major published magazines, so I think that should at least say a little bit about it's legitimacy. Do a little research before you cast such a quick and uniformed judgement. As for it "reeking of new money"....how many supercars can you say this is not at least somewhat true of? I don't see any AMG as being especially "old money".

Speaking of "new", join date of July 2008 and 38 posts? Okey dokey.

Taht's a very cool car, but it does make me nervous that they originally asked $48K, and now are asking $38K. A $10K drop that easily and they are still making money?

I doubt the guy is making money in any way on this sale. I find it hard to believe that the work he documented putting into this totalled anything less than the original asking price, probably more.

IMHO, poor timing, and wrong market (USA).

He'd be better off posting it on the German or Japan ebaymotors, and the equivalent AMG forums in Germany and Japan.

It just needs visibility.

:-) neil

PS: what do you think a 500E wagon conversion with a true 500E VIN# would go for, especially with a fully documented and quality build ?
